At Family Dentistry of Niles, technology plays an important role in how we evaluate, diagnose, and plan your care. From advanced 3D imaging to digital X-rays and intraoral cameras, every tool we use serves a specific clinical purpose, helping us see more, explain more, and recommend with greater confidence. We only recommend the imaging and technology that is clinically appropriate for your individual needs.
Our 3D CBCT scanner provides detailed three-dimensional images of your teeth, jawbone, nerves, airways, and surrounding oral structures. Unlike traditional X-rays, CBCT captures views from multiple angles, giving us comprehensive diagnostic information when a fuller picture is needed, such as for implant planning, impacted teeth, or complex oral evaluations.
Our digital X-ray system captures detailed images of your teeth, roots, and jawbone using electronic sensors with lower radiation exposure than many traditional film-based systems. Images are available within seconds and displayed on a monitor so we can review findings with you directly during your appointment.
Our intraoral cameras are small, pen-sized devices that capture close-up images of the inside of your mouth and display them on a monitor in real time. This helps us identify areas of concern more clearly and helps you see and understand what we see, making for a more informed conversation about your care.
For patients who experience dental anxiety or require more complex procedures, we use modern sedation support and monitoring equipment. Our systems track vital signs throughout treatment and are used only when sedation is clinically appropriate, following a thorough review of your medical history.
Every instrument we use is cleaned, packaged, and sterilized using autoclave technology before your appointment. Treatment rooms are fully disinfected between patients, and our team follows established infection control protocols throughout every visit, because a clean and safe environment is the foundation of good dental care.
Our practice uses the Dexis imaging platform across all of our diagnostic technology, including our CBCT scanner, intraoral scanner, and Dexis Ti2 Titanium sensors. This integrated system supports consistent image quality, accurate treatment planning, and secure digital record-keeping for every patient.
